FORMATION
The Episcopal Church defines formation as “lifelong growth in the knowledge, service, and love of God as followers of Christ…informed by Scripture, Tradition, and Reason.”

LEARNING TIME
We are called, as a church, to receive, nurture, protect, and treasure each child as a gift from God;
• to proclaim the Gospel to children, in ways that empower them to receive and respond to God’s love;
• to include children, in fulfillment of the Baptismal Covenant, as full participants in the Eucharistic community;
• to foster community beyond the family unit, in which children, youth and adults know each other by name, and minister to each other;
• to appreciate children’s abilities and readiness to represent Christ and his church, to bear witness to him wherever they may be, and according to gifts given them, to carry on.

BIBLE DISCUSSIONS AND ADULT RETREATS
Adult Formation seeks to provide a variety of opportunities for deepening our understanding of our Christian heritage, for nurturing ourselves and our families, and for growing together to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Our adult opportunities are led by our Formation Director, members of the congregation, and outside guests. These include Bible Discussions, retreats, a book group, webinars, and connections to resources in the wider Anglican community. Our common life nurtures us in God’s Kingdom in a way that is accessible to everyone, wherever they are on their spiritual journey.

GROW IN LOVE OF NEIGHBOR AND SELF
Year-round stewardship at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church is a response to God's generosity, reflecting a commitment to making God's love known through human life and the use of all that God has given.
It involves service to God's world, care for others, and care of creation. We group our stewardship into four pillars:
Hospitality,
Spirituality,
Outreach, and
Generosity.
